Hi – thanks for dropping in and Welcome to the Lotus Watercourse.
Welcome to the Lotus Watercourse. One of the reasons for calling the site The Lotus Watercourse is that this site, just like each and every life, will be a journey. To Taoists being something like water is the best way to journey (as you will learn from the Daodejing [Tao Te Ching, which is the spelling I’ll use to avoid confusion]). Water never complains about finding itself in a stagnant pond being dribbled into by a scrawny mob of dust-clad kangaroos, but also never going on about it when flying down the middle of a raging river. It never complains and never contends but is the most powerful of all. The Taoists love water…
Another reason is that the Lotus flower is unique in the plant world – it grows out of the mud and it carries both flower and seed (cause and effect) at the same time. Last, Alan Watts’, the Buddhist and Taoist scholar, writer, and speaker, (and wonderful man by all accounts) named his last work The Watercourse Way, so this is in homage to the great work he did, sharing his wisdom and observances. It seemed to me a great combining of references to Buddhism (Lotus Sutras), and the Way of the Taoists – the Law of Attraction just sits and waits for your attention and is manifest in everything that happens, good or bad.
In the next few instalments I’m going to hopefully entertain your spirits with how this so-called very messed up person strove to sort themselves out (still striving). I’ll tell you about practices that have worked. And how, by letting a lot of ideas, judgements and expectations go, so that the innate goodness, naturalness, and spirituality that had nipped at my sometimes uncontrolled outer world all my life could stay powerfully present in me for long enough so my journey would feel less like a struggle and more like a joy. Despite some very unpleasant and at times lawless behaviour my inner resources would keep bringing me back onto the path.
Qualifications.
Why do I feel qualified to share my story? Well, I’ve had some issues (spent some time on the 4 Evil Paths) a very long time yet continued with Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditation, and other practices – so was always seeking the joy that abounded in me on a more consistent level. Falling off the wagon is a great teacher, particularly when you have already experienced the joy and bliss being on the wagon presents. I have sunk to the depths as an addict and an emotional retard, and soared to the heights when I briefly experienced my Buddha nature and the Tao without any artificial aids. You may find I can talk a very good rollercoaster ride….
Many years have I spent in the arts, so have experienced sensual (and totally hedonistic) living. I have been a teacher (experiencing bureaucracy, excited youth, and the joy of service), and have been trained as a Hypnotherapist, NLP Master, Energy Healer and Life Coach: finally, spent nearly 2 years living on a mainly Hindu ashram as their music producer/guitarist/sound guy. I’ve squandered enough to buy a small house (up norf), spent time with people I should have avoided, slept with people I should definitely have avoided, and have memories that are like arrows in my heart.
Where are my leanings?
I guess I’ve done a lot of life…..and a lot of searching.
My leanings? I was a dedicated Nichiren Buddhist practitioner, striving (or non-striving?) to live by the Tao and the Law of Attraction, and to further cultivate myself. most times I meditate (but not all the time). Sometimes I chant (but not all the time). Being in a hot country with a siesta means that I lay about daydreaming without guilt. I walk, cook, love learning, love deep breathing…I love being…love music…..arts….nature…..God/Goddess.
In this journey together, we will go deeper into what a lot of this spiritual verbosity means, and why bad stuff happens to us – and might keep happening, but for now, a very warm hello and a few rules of engagement.
We are going to talk about; channelling non-physical beings, recognising you’re as powerful as a god (not in competition), a never-ending karmic stream of consequence, the parent lottery, and such like. The below pre-suppositions help enormously because a lot of stuff I speak about I have taken as a given so that we don’t use time explaining things over and over – you want to get into it, right? The meal is not the menu. If you don’t believe in any of this, I don’t know how much you’ll enjoy it, but I’ll do my best to keep it light and entertaining all the same. Life’s meant to be fun.
Pre-suppositions.
- We are eternal source energy light beings (as souls, higher and lower) having a subjective physical experience that continues to repeat until you balance your Karmic books (or choose to stick around). Not proven by Western science – apart from they know we are bio-electrical beings and they have Pauli’s Law.
- We are vibrational beings living in a vibration-based universe that is expanding (everything is vibrating). Proven by Western science.
- The mind doesn’t know the difference between what’s real and imagined. Proven by everyone.
- Everything you do, good and bad, has a consequence – the more emotionally charged (the larger the vibration), the larger the consequence. (Go rob a bank……you’ll soon understand consequence….unless you’re very, very smart, but still, there’ll be consequences.)
- Whatever your mind dwells on you’ll attract.
- Countless people have completely changed their lives in an instant – and it is possible for you to do the same as well. Proven, proven, proven, and all 3 of our schools believe it as well, BUT if you haven’t done it, it’s almost unfathomable.
- No one has a clue what reality is (that’s why its called ineffable) so we create a map of the world that works for each of us – bad map, bad behaviour.
So, strap in, there will be some controversy, some bombshells, some head shaking (maybe), but all of it in order to get you to a place where you love yourself again, have increased choices and have some control over the outcomes of your life. If you’d like a chat go here.
